Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician

Location: Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland 

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to join a well established food manufacturing company in Carrickfergus. This role is crucial in ensuring that products are produced in compliance with established quality, hygiene, and legal standards. The Quality Assurance Technician will work closely with the production team, monitor processes, and conduct necessary tests to maintain high-quality production standards.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure product quality is maintained throughout all stages of processing.

  • Conduct microbiological swab testing, sniff testing, and other relevant tests according to company standards, maintaining accurate records.

  • Take samples at specified intervals and ensure they meet laboratory testing requirements.

  • Identify and take appropriate action in case of pest control issues.

  • Perform weekly calibration of temperature probes and record findings.

  • Adhere to specified quality standards and contribute to audits as necessary.

  • Step in as Quality Supervisor in their absence.

 

Quality Control:

  • Inspect incoming raw materials to ensure they meet product specifications.

  • Record and monitor temperatures of incoming products, during processing, and before dispatch, ensuring compliance with customer specifications.

  • Maintain temperature control throughout the production process to guarantee product shelf life.

  • Perform regular checks on the production floor to ensure adherence to quality standards and accurate record-keeping.

  • Conduct regular evaluations of factory cleanliness and ensure compliance with cleanliness standards.

  • Monitor chill temperatures and address any faults or irregularities.

 

Customer Requirements:

  • Interact professionally and courteously with visitors to the facility.

  • Proactively monitor the production floor and report any potential risks to production or customer safety.

  • Ensure that all packaging materials meet the necessary standards.

  • Strictly enforce customer specifications and halt production when deviations occur.

  • Reject any products or materials that do not meet the required customer specifications.
