About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated New Product Development (NPD) Manager to join a leading food manufacturer based in Newtownards. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative individual to contribute to the development of new, high-quality food products in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As an NPD Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving the company’s growth through the successful development of new products and enhancements to the existing product range.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the NPD process from concept through to launch, working closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Production, and Quality.
  • Develop and refine product ideas, ensuring they meet customer requirements, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage product trials, oversee sensory evaluations, and provide feedback to ensure products align with market demands and company objectives.
  • Create and manage project timelines and ensure that product development milestones are met.
  • Work with suppliers to source ingredients and materials that meet cost, quality, and sustainability standards.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Sales teams to ensure the successful launch and promotion of new products.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitor products to guide innovation.
  • Provide technical expertise and ensure that all new products comply with health and safety regulations, food safety, and quality standards.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in NPD within the food manufacturing sector.
  • Strong project management skills and experience leading product development teams.
  • Solid understanding of food safety regulations, HACCP, and product testing.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and engage with external suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Creative and proactive approach to problem-solving and product innovation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
