We are hiring for our client, a well-established insurance brokerage, who are seeking an experienced Commercial Account Executive to join their Operations team in Galway. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a portfolio of mid-to-large commercial clients, providing end-to-end servicing and contributing directly to the growth and success of the business.
The Commercial Account Executive will take ownership of client relationships, providing strategic advice, ensuring client retention, and mentoring junior team members. The Role:
• Manage and service a portfolio of commercial clients, ensuring client retention throughout the renewal cycle
• Analyse client needs and identify opportunities to strengthen their risk management and insurance structures
• Market client accounts to insurers, negotiate premiums, and ensure timely placement of risks
• Maintain accurate records on Applied Relay, including file notes and client communications
• Monitor business metrics, including new business, renewals, fees, commissions, and margins
• Mentor and train junior Account Handlers as required
• Attend client meetings alongside the sales team and provide technical and commercial advice
• Participate in internal business projects and strategic initiatives
• Stay informed of insurer appetites, market trends, and competitor activity
• Ensure all work is compliant with regulatory requirements, Central Bank codes, and internal business standards
The Person:
• 6–10+ years’ experience in commercial insurance or broking
• Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products including Property, Employer’s/Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, Commercial Fleet, and specialist lines (Agri, Marine, Engineering, Credit, Construction Bonds, Cyber)
• Excellent client account management and relationship-building skills
• Strong understanding of regulatory and legal requirements within the financial services sector
• Effective communicator with ability to mentor and lead colleagues
• Highly organised, proactive, and commercially minded
