Description

We are hiring for our client for a Product Specification Technologist to join a well-established and fast-paced food manufacturing business.

This Product Specification Technologist role is critical in ensuring all finished product specifications, artwork and technical documentation are accurate, compliant and delivered within tight deadlines. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including NPD, Technical, Commercial and Supply Chain to support successful product launches and ongoing product compliance.

The successful Product Specification Technologist will play a key role in maintaining high standards across customer requirements, legislation and internal quality systems.

The Role

  • Write, approve and maintain finished product specifications in line with customer and legal requirements
  • Generate accurate ingredient declarations and nutritional data
  • Support artwork approval for primary and secondary packaging
  • Ensure all specifications are compliant with legislation, customer standards and internal policies
  • Manage and update data across customer portals and internal systems
  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accuracy and consistency of data
  • Respond to customer queries and support audits and site visits
  • Maintain all supporting technical documentation including QAS, CCP and certification records
  • Monitor process changes that may impact specifications and ensure updates are actioned
  • Provide guidance across departments on customer requirements and compliance

The Person

  • Food-related qualification or relevant experience in a similar role
  • Experience working with product specifications or within a technical/quality environment
  • Strong understanding of food legislation and customer requirements (desirable)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Confident communicator with the ability to liaise across teams and stakeholders
  • Comfortable using IT systems including Excel and specification platforms
