Graduate Design Engineer

We are hiring for our client, a well-established engineering manufacturer, who are seeking a Graduate Design Engineer to join their team in Portarlington.

This Graduate Design Engineer role offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to kick-start their career within a hands-on manufacturing environment. You will work closely with experienced engineers, supporting the redesign and development of products while gaining exposure across the full product lifecycle.

The Role

• Support the design and development of engineering products and components
• Assist in creating 3D CAD models, drawings and technical documentation
• Work alongside senior engineers on product redesign and improvement projects
• Help produce Bills of Materials (BOMs) and parts lists
• Liaise with the manufacturing team to understand production processes
• Assist with testing, troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives
• Gain exposure to projects from concept through to production

The Person

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Strong interest in design and manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor or similar)
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Eagerness to learn and develop within a practical engineering role
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Placement year or internship experience desirable but not essential
