The Role:

As the Technology Enablement Manager, you will be a key player in the Future Power Systems function at SONI, enabling the integration of renewable energy and flexibility solutions to achieve climate goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Innovation: Build and oversee a high-performing team to identify, assess, and integrate emerging technologies into power systems.
  • Develop Strategic Roadmaps: Drive innovation strategies to implement future-ready solutions for SONIs electricity grid and the all-island Single Electricity Market.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Strengthen partnerships with key organisations, policymakers, regulatory bodies, and industry professionals.
  • Policy Influence: Represent SONI in external forums to shape energy policies and advocate for technological advancements.
  • Project Oversight: Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and performance objectives.
  • Team Development: Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture while supporting the professional growth of team members.

The Person:

We are looking for a dynamic leader with the adaptability, analytical mindset, and expertise to drive meaningful change in the energy sector.

Essential Criteria:

  • A degree in engineering, mathematics, economics, or a relevant technical discipline.
  • At least 8 years of experience in a related field, with exposure to energy systems and flexibility solutions such as energy storage or interconnections.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage teams.
  • Strong communication skills to translate technical insights into actionable plans.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

Desirable Experience:

  • Professional experience in energy markets, including electricity or gas.
  • Familiarity with all-island energy policies and the Single Electricity Market framework.
  • Experience engaging with policymakers, industry stakeholders, or regulatory bodies.
