Description

We are hiring for our client for a Technical Manager to take full ownership of the Food Safety & Quality Management System within a well-established food manufacturing environment.

The Technical Manager will act as the primary technical lead on site, ensuring all food safety, quality and compliance standards are implemented and maintained in line with legislative, customer and industry requirements.

This Technical Manager role offers the opportunity to drive standards, lead audits, and shape a strong food safety culture across the business while developing and supporting a growing technical team.

The Role

  • Act as the primary Technical contact for the site
  • Ensure full implementation of the Food Safety & Quality Management System
  • Liaise closely with Production to maintain standards across all operations
  • Ensure compliance with DAFM, BRC, MPQAS and customer requirements
  • Lead and manage customer, regulatory and certification audits
  • Manage customer complaints, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Drive continuous improvement through quality and food safety objectives
  • Keep up to date with food legislation and emerging risks
  • Develop and promote a strong food safety culture across the site
  • Coach, support and develop members of the technical team

The Person

  • Degree in Food Science or related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Proven experience within food safety and quality in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing audits and dealing with customers
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across teams
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive approach with the ability to work on own initiative
