We are hiring for our client, a well-established food manufacturing business, who are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead quality and food safety operations across their site.

The successful Technical Manager will oversee product quality systems, regulatory compliance, customer standards, and hygiene management to ensure the consistent production of high-quality, safe products. The Role:

• Develop, monitor, and maintain product quality and food safety systems in line with company policy and industry standards.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant third-party, customer, and regulatory requirements (including Bord Bia and Pigmeat Quality Assurance Standards).
• Act as the company representative for quality assurance standards and ensure full adherence across all processes.
• Manage non-conforming product investigations, product recall readiness, complaint handling, and product release authorisations.
• Oversee site hygiene management, pest control verification, and facility inspections.
• Liaise with customers on technical or quality issues, providing effective resolutions and root cause analysis.
• Lead and support training for all staff on good manufacturing and hygiene practices.
• Maintain audit readiness by ensuring accurate completion and retention of quality and compliance documentation.
• Drive a continuous improvement culture through leadership, corrective actions, and proactive prevention strategies.
• Make final decisions on all quality and food safety matters, ensuring product safety and brand integrity.


The Person:

• Proven experience in a Quality or Technical Management role within the food manufacturing sector.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety management systems, HACCP, GMP, and relevant legislation.
• Excellent leadership and decision-making abilities, with experience leading audits and quality teams.
• Confident communicator, capable of liaising with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Organised and detail-focused, with strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Understanding of third-party audit standards (Bord Bia, BRCGS, retailer requirements) is essential.
• Flexible, proactive, and able to adapt to changing business needs.
