Job Title: Technical Manager (Food)
Location: County Armagh
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Contract: Full-Time
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Technical Manager to join a leading meat processing organization. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the technical aspects of operations, ensuring compliance with quality and food safety standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems and food safety protocols in accordance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Lead and mentor a team of quality assurance and technical staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with production and operational teams to ensure all products meet safety, quality, and legal standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of processes and products to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance.
- Manage technical documentation and ensure accurate record-keeping related to quality control and food safety.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to address any quality or compliance issues that arise during production.
- Drive initiatives to optimize operational processes and improve product quality, including the implementation of new technologies and practices.
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies and customers regarding quality assurance and food safety matters.
Essential Criteria:
- A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
- Significant experience in a quality or technical management role within the meat or food processing industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, quality assurance standards, and HACCP principles.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant quality management software.
