Location: Monaghan
Contract: 40 hours
Salary: €60K - €70K

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join a leading food manufacturing organization based in Monaghan. In this pivotal role, you will report to the Head of Technical and NPD and work closely with all departments to drive the delivery of technical standards across operations. Your focus will be on ensuring food safety, product quality, and integrity while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure clarity and effective communication of technical standards across all departments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain food safety, quality, and legality of all products in compliance with customer specifications.
  • Develop an ‘Audit Ready’ culture to consistently achieve successful audit outcomes.
  • Provide technical expertise in food safety legislation and assist in overcoming operational challenges.
  • Drive continuous improvement by enhancing quality systems and operational processes.
  • Manage and implement the Food Safety Management system, ensuring it is HACCP-based and aligned with food safety, quality, and legality requirements.
  • Support the management of technical audits, hosting as needed.
  • Promote a culture of readiness for daily operations.
  • Address and resolve non-conformance reports from audits effectively.
  • Lead, motivate, and inspire the technical team, aligning with company values to foster personal development and improvement.
  • Develop and implement KPIs to measure and communicate performance issues both internally and to customers.
  • Utilize root cause analysis to create action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the promotion of a food safety culture within the factory environment as part of the site leadership team.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for all employees in the technical function, adhering to health and safety standards.

 

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Level 8 degree, preferably in a food-related discipline.
  • Significant experience in a chilled food environment with knowledge of High Care, High Risk, RTE, RtRH, and RTC disciplines.
  • Proven experience in managing food safety risks and projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing teams to achieve results.
  • Familiarity with food safety management systems compliant with GFSI standards, including BRC.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • IT literate, with proficiency in processing data (e.g., KPIs).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
