We are hiring for our client, a progressive and customer-focused food manufacturing business, as they seek to appoint an experienced Technical Lead.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior food science, technical or quality professional to take ownership of customer standards, product quality and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with the Technical, Quality, Operations and Commercial teams, the successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining exceptional standards across the business.

The Role

• Act as the technical lead and primary customer contact for product quality, food safety and technical matters
• Manage customer expectations across product quality, improvement initiatives and new product development projects
• Ensure compliance with BRC, HACCP, GMP and all relevant food safety and quality standards
• Lead customer and third-party audits, ensuring the business remains audit-ready
• Coordinate audit documentation and oversee the implementation of corrective actions
• Implement and drive customer standards, policies and technical requirements across the manufacturing process
• Work closely with the Quality and Operations teams to investigate customer complaints and deliver effective corrective actions
• Identify and lead continuous improvement projects that enhance product quality and customer satisfaction
• Provide technical guidance on hygiene, housekeeping, factory standards and food-handling practices
• Ensure products comply with current legislation and are manufactured legally and safely
• Support new product launches, product development projects and artwork approval processes
• Build strong relationships with customers across Ireland, the UK and Europe
• Provide technical direction when resolving immediate product or process issues
• Deputise for the Technical Manager when required

The Person

• Third-level qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline
• At least five years’ senior experience within technical, quality or food safety management
• Previous experience in a Technical Lead, Technical Manager, Quality Manager or similar role
• Strong knowledge of BRC, HACCP, GMP and food manufacturing quality systems
• Proven experience leading customer audits and managing customer relationships
• Track record of successfully delivering product quality and continuous improvement projects
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
• Confident presenting technical information to customers and senior stakeholders
• Commercially aware, customer-focused and comfortable challenging existing processes
• Excellent project management, organisational and time-management skills
• Able to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
• Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
• Willingness to travel up to 20% as required
