Tax Manager - Part-Time

The Role

As Part-Time Tax Manager, you will:

• Manage a portfolio of clients across a broad range of UK businesses
• Provide technical advice across Corporation Tax and R&D tax relief
• Review tax work, claims and advisory reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Support the preparation and submission of Corporation Tax returns and R&D claims
• Build strong relationships and develop a clear understanding of each client’s needs
• Identify opportunities to provide additional tax support and commercially focused advice
• Work closely with senior leadership on complex client matters
• Support and mentor junior team members where required
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant UK tax legislation
• Attend occasional client meetings, with minimal travel expected

The Person

The successful Part-Time Tax Manager will be a technically capable tax professional who can manage client relationships and work independently within a specialist advisory environment.

Essential Criteria

• CTA and/or ACA qualification, or equivalent relevant experience
• Experience managing client relationships and delivering commercially focused advice
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly
• Ability to manage priorities and take ownership of client work

Desirable Criteria

• Previous experience at Tax Manager, Senior Tax Manager or Associate Director level
• Experience within accountancy practice, tax advisory, consultancy or a specialist tax business
• Experience reviewing the work of junior tax professionals
• An established professional or referral network

Flexible Working

This business is open to agreeing a part-time arrangement that works for both parties. This could include shorter working days, reduced hours across the week or a schedule that accommodates school pick-ups and other personal commitments.

The focus will be on finding the right person and creating a sustainable working pattern around their availability.
