An excellent opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a specialist manufacturing company. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will take ownership of complex machine designs from concept through to completion

The Role:

• Lead the mechanical design of packaging systems
• Create 3D CAD models, detailed manufacturing drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks
• Oversee projects from concept through to completion
• Perform risk assessments, tolerance analysis, and host design reviews
• Collaborate with Electrical, Controls, and Project Management teams to deliver complete solutions
• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturing teams to optimise cost and build efficiency
• Contribute to project documentation including machine manuals and client deliverables

The Person:

• Degree (Bachelor’s/Master’s) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• 8+ years’ design experience, with at least 5 years in automation or special-purpose machinery
• Expert user of SolidWorks and familiar with PDM systems
• Strong understanding of pneumatics, servo systems, cams, and mechanical drives
