Senior Associate – Banking & Finance (REF)

Hunter Savage, a specialist legal recruitment consultancy led by Ronan Savage, is instructed on a strategic hire for a Senior Associate – Banking & Finance (REF) within a leading international law firm’s London office.

This Senior Associate – Banking & Finance opportunity sits within a well-established team led by multiple partners and forms part of a broader 70+ lawyer Banking & Finance group. Approximately 70% of the practice is real estate finance focused, and this role will support that core offering, acting predominantly on lender-led transactions.

The Senior Associate – Banking & Finance will take a visible, client-facing role on complex matters, with genuine scope for progression and leadership responsibility.

Practice Focus

The role involves a broad range of transactional debt finance matters, including:

• Leveraged and acquisition finance (including super senior lenders)
• General corporate lending
• Receivables and asset-based lending
• Loan trading and balance sheet transactions

You will structure and lead complex debt finance transactions, draft and negotiate facility and intercreditor agreements, coordinate junior lawyers on security documentation, and contribute actively to business development initiatives.

Clients include private equity sponsors, debt funds, banks and listed and unlisted corporates.

Candidate Profile

• 5+ PQE from a recognised Banking & Finance practice
• Strong technical grounding in debt finance transactions
• Excellent drafting and analytical capability
• Experience leading matters and managing client relationships
• Commercial outlook with interest in business development
