Job Title: Quality Manager
Location: Monaghan
Contract: 40 hours

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Quality Manager to join a dynamic team in the food manufacturing sector. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in managing food safety and quality compliance across the site, ensuring that all products meet legal and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various departments to maintain the safety, quality, and legality of all products, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Lead and manage the Quality Assurance team, fostering collaboration and driving performance.
  • Provide technical expertise in food safety, working to overcome challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Implement and monitor the Food Safety Management System, including the HACCP plan.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing existing quality systems and operational processes.
  • Support and participate in business improvement projects, actively promoting a culture of quality.
  • Conduct and oversee departmental audits, ensuring timely corrective actions are implemented.
  • Manage hygiene functions to uphold site cleanliness and support the company’s vision.
  • Validate production records promptly and complete complaint investigations, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Ensure a robust pest control program is in place with up-to-date monitoring.
  • Conduct site risk assessments and review microbiological results, coordinating corrective actions as needed.

Essential Experience and Knowledge:

  • Level 8 Degree in a food-related discipline.
  • Previous experience in Quality Management within the food manufacturing industry; experience in ready meals is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of auditing practices, quality standards, HACCP, process control, and food legislation.
  • Proven experience in managing projects and leading teams to achieve results.
  • Familiarity with retailer audit requirements and GFSI standards, including BRC compliance.
  • Ability to work effectively under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a capacity for independent work and team leadership.
  • Strong IT and report writing skills.
  • A genuine passion for food quality and safety.
