Overview:
We are currently working with a leading bakery in Co. Wexford to recruit a skilled and dedicated Quality Assurance Manager. This key role will oversee the Food Safety and Quality Systems to ensure compliance with customer and legal requirements, maintaining the highest levels of food safety, quality, and compliance across all products produced. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the bakerys management team, driving continuous improvement and contributing to the achievement of the business objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of food safety and quality systems, including HACCP, GMP, Pest Control, Plant Hygiene, and Internal Audits.
  • Ensure product quality consistently meets agreed specifications and is delivered to customer expectations.
  • Manage all aspects of food safety and foster a Quality Culture throughout the business.
  • Collaborate closely with site management and team leaders to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provide training to all site staff to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Lead and support site audits, including third-party, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Manage the hygiene department and external cleaning contractors to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained.
  • Plan and implement corrective and preventive actions as required to address non-compliance or process improvements.
  • Ensure company policies and operational standards are consistently met.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reductions while maintaining high product quality.
  • Comply with site health and safety requirements while performing all duties.

 

Requirements:

  • A third-level qualification in a relevant field.
  • 3-5 yearsexperience in a Food Safety or Quality Assurance role, ideally within a bakery or food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong auditing experience (internal, customer, regulatory, and third-party audits).
  • Proven experience in managing people and leading teams.
  • Flexibility and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and software.
