Description

We are hiring for our client for a Quality Assurance Assistant to join a busy and growing food manufacturing business.

This Quality Assurance Assistant role will support the site Quality team in ensuring all Food Safety & Quality Management Systems are implemented and maintained to the highest standards. The successful Quality Assurance Assistant will work closely with Production, Hygiene and Technical teams to help drive food safety, compliance and quality culture across the site.

The Role

  • Control and review production and goods received records
  • Support Food Safety & Quality Management Systems including HACCP, SOPs, BRC and retailer standards
  • Participate in new product and process introduction activities
  • Assist with investigations, corrective actions and customer complaints
  • Carry out induction and refresher quality training across site
  • Support customer and regulatory audits
  • Conduct internal audits in line with the agreed audit schedule
  • Complete testing activities in line with testing schedules
  • Carry out QC checks and product assessments
  • Coordinate calibration activities internally and externally
  • Monitor shelf life analysis and product performance
  • Support hygiene consumable ordering and waste documentation processes
  • Ensure compliance with all site Health & Safety requirements

The Person

  • Qualification in Food Science or a related discipline
  • Knowledge of HACCP, BRC, Internal Auditing and retailer standards
  • Previous experience within a food manufacturing quality or technical role preferred
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • IT literate with good attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and as part of a wider team
  • Positive attitude with a proactive approach to problem solving
