Description

We are hiring for our client for a Quality Assurance Manager to take ownership of site quality systems within a well-established food manufacturing business based in Newtownards.

The Quality Assurance Manager will play a key role in ensuring the Quality Management System delivers consistently high-quality, safe, legal and authentic products in line with customer and regulatory requirements.

This Quality Assurance Manager position offers strong exposure across audits, compliance, team leadership and continuous improvement, with the opportunity to deputise for the Technical Manager and influence site-wide standards.

The Role

  • Manage and maintain the site Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Lead customer, BRCGS and internal audits, ensuring audit readiness at all times
  • Oversee non-conformance management, root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Manage customer complaints, including investigation, trending and reporting
  • Lead QA team activities including testing, product release and documentation
  • Support NPD processes including trials, HACCP and product launches
  • Oversee allergen management, hygiene standards, pest control and CCP validation
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, quality and legislative requirements
  • Work closely with Production and Maintenance teams to maintain site standards
  • Deliver training, team briefs and support continuous improvement initiatives

The Person

  • Experience in a QA / Quality leadership role within food manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS and food safety standards
  • Proven experience managing audits and customer interactions
  • Experience leading or mentoring a QA team
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational ability
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive and hands-on approach
