Production Stream Group Leader

Job Title: Production Stream Group Leader 
Location: Portadown
Salary: 45,000 per annum

Working Hours:

  • Saturday/Sunday: 06:00-18:00
  • 2 mid-week days (flexible hours for 2 x 8-hour shifts)

About the Role:
As a Group Leader in the Production Stream, you will be responsible for leading a dedicated team, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the production process. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with strong leadership skills and a passion for continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Lead, recruit, and induct new members to the Production Stream team, fostering their development through skills assessments, training, feedback, and support.
  • Health and Safety: Champion a site-wide safety culture, ensuring that all employees adhere to health and safety standards. Proactively identify risks and implement countermeasures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Standard Development & Confirmation: Ensure that site policies and procedures are documented, trained, and followed consistently by Team Leaders and Members.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Practical Problem Solving and KPS lean methodologies to enhance production standards and processes.
  • Labour Organisation: Optimize team labour availability, collaborate with the Operations and CI Managers to ensure efficient staffing, and manage unplanned absences to maintain operational flow.
  • Process Reliability: Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze production metrics, identify performance gaps, and take corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Quality Control: Maintain the highest product quality standards and ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to meet agreed product specifications.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in team management or a similar leadership role, ideally in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety standards within a manufacturing context.
  • Experience with lean methodologies and continuous improvement processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead and develop a team.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
