On behalf of a well-established engineering and fabrication manufacturer based in Dungannon, I am recruiting for an experienced Production Manager to lead and control manufacturing operations from customer order through to dispatch and aftersales support.

This is a senior operational role with responsibility for people, production planning, quality, safety, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.

The Role

The Production Manager will take full ownership of manufacturing activity, ensuring production plans are delivered on time, to specification, and in line with customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and control manufacturing and dispatch schedules, building in contingency for operational risk
  • Coordinate customer orders with production capacity, working closely with customer-facing teams
  • Lead regular production meetings to ensure teams are aligned on priorities and timelines
  • Resolve operational issues and report progress and solutions to senior management
  • Manage production resources including capacity, materials, and manpower requirements
  • Champion high standards of quality, health & safety, and environmental compliance, driving a zero-defect culture
  • Work with quality and HSE teams to implement improvements, audits, and corrective actions
  • Lead and deliver continuous improvement initiatives across production operations
  • Develop, support, and appraise supervisors and production teams to achieve agreed targets
  • Support the introduction of new technologies, processes, and facility improvements

What Were Looking For

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 yearsexperience in a production supervisory or management role
  • Background in a high-volume engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of production machinery and engineering drawings
  • Experience of continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong planning, organisational, and leadership skills

Desirable:

  • Degree (2:2 or above) in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Experience within fabrication, surface coating, or assembly environments
  • Exposure to CAD software alongside MS Office
