Job Title: Operations Team Leader
Location: County Armagh, Northern Ireland 
Salary: £45,000
Contract: Full-Time

About the Role:

We are currently seeking an Operations Team Leader to oversee day-to-day operations at a leading food manufacturing facility in County Armagh. The successful candidate will play a vital role in coordinating and delegating tasks to team members, ensuring the achievement of shift, daily, and weekly production goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for team members, facilitating regular communication and addressing issues at the team level while escalating when necessary.
  • Provide support to other functions outside normal office hours and address any arising issues.
  • Communicate with the departmental manager regarding current and potential future challenges.
  • Coach and motivate team members to achieve performance standards in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and environmental impact.
  • Collaborate with peers to achieve overall business objectives.
  • Allocate work, manage staffing levels, and handle attendance, grievances, and disciplinary matters in accordance with company policies.
  • Identify, monitor, and review team training needs, implementing development plans as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of production adjustments and ensure operational checks are completed and documented.
  • Continuously monitor process controls, guiding team members to make necessary adjustments to maintain production specifications and minimize waste.
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety policies and procedures at all times.

 

Essential Criteria:

  • GCSE pass level in Maths and English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in shift supervision and team leadership within a production or manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of monitoring KPIs and driving initiatives to achieve production targets.
  • Familiarity with standardized work instructions.
  • Understanding of safe working practices and how to enhance a safe workplace through operator inclusivity.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and implementing hazard elimination measures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment with multiple interacting workstations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and people management abilities.
  • A calm approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • A commitment to creating and contributing to a high-performance culture, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • A self-motivated individual with a "Go and See" approach to managing the team and processes.
  • Experience in embracing change and adapting to new challenges.
