NPD Manager

Job Title: New Product Development (NPD) Manager
Location: Dungannon, Northern Ireland 
Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 (DOE)

We are currently partnering with a highly innovative and fast-growing food manufacturer that specialises in producing premium extruded snacks across a variety of markets. With a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and service, they supply products globally and continue to experience significant growth.

As part of their ongoing expansion, we are seeking an experienced and results-driven New Product Development (NPD) Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic and creative professional to lead product development initiatives and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of a dynamic and evolving brand within the snacking industry.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end NPD process, from initial concept through to launch, ensuring projects align with company goals and customer expectations.

  • Oversee product trials and sensory evaluations, offering expert feedback to guide successful development outcomes.

  • Manage detailed project timelines, ensuring all key milestones are delivered on schedule.

  • Source and manage ingredients and materials, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and sustainability standards.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Innovation, Production, Quality, and Commercial to ensure seamless development and market introduction of new products.

  • Stay up-to-date with consumer trends, competitor activity, and market insights to inform product innovation strategies.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements related to NPD and EPD activities.

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development support to the NPD team.

 

Candidate Profile – Essential Criteria:

  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in New Product Development within the food manufacturing industry.

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead cross-functional development teams.

  • Experience managing and developing a high-performing team.

  • Solid understanding of food safety regulations, HACCP, and quality assurance protocols.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

  • Creative mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and innovation.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining focus on quality and deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Flexible, reliable, and a strong team player with a passion for the food industry.
