Job Title: NPD Manager 

Location: County Monaghan, Ireland (Possibility for Hybrid working)

Salary: €70,000 

 

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a New Product Development (NPD) Manager to join a leading, fast-growing consumer foods company. This company is renowned for its expertise within the industry and operates across multiple sectors, including manufacturing, retail, and services. As the NPD Manager, you will oversee and lead the NPD functions within the organization, managing a dynamic team of NPD Chefs and Specification Technologists.

Scope of the Role:

The NPD Manager will take full responsibility for leading the product development process, from concept through to launch, ensuring all products meet both quality and regulatory standards. In addition to overseeing a team, you will work closely with the Commercial Team to identify market trends and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the NPD Department, driving the development of innovative products from idea generation to launch.

  • Ensure all products meet the required quality and regulatory standards.

  • Analyze market trends and customer insights to collaborate effectively with the Commercial Team.

  • Implement and maintain NPD procedures, ensuring full adherence across the team.

  • Manage project timelines and budgets to ensure efficient product development.

  • Evaluate the performance of products post-launch and provide insights for improvements.

  • Support external audits when required.

  • Perform any ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • A third-level degree in a food-related discipline.

  • Proven experience in product development within a food manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of food safety, legislation, and compliance with EU & UK regulations.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with a passion for driving change.

  • Proficiency in budget management and the ability to deliver against site and customer KPIs.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Strong organizational skills and an acute attention to detail.
