Key Account Manager

We are hiring for our client, a leading supplier within FMCG to appoint a Key Account Manager.

This Key Account Manager role offers the opportunity to drive revenue growth by managing and expanding relationships with key accounts. The successful Key Account Manager will be responsible for maintaining client satisfaction, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering sales targets in line with company strategy.

This is a fantastic role for a commercially-minded sales professional with experience in B2B account management and a strong track record within the food or FMCG sector.

The Role

  • Manage a portfolio of key accounts, maintaining strong, long-term relationships
  • Develop account plans to maximise retention, revenue, and margin
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts
  • Support export growth across the UK and Europe
  • Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to tailor solutions
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform strategy
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms within company guidelines
  • Prepare and present regular sales forecasts, reports, and pipeline updates
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and client meetings as a brand ambassador

The Person

  • Proven track record in B2B FMCG industry with strong knowledge of in-house processes in Key Accounts
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills
  • Ability to analyse sales data and market insights to inform strategy
  • Highly organised with strong time-management skills
  • Proficient in CRM systems and MS Office Suite
  • 3-5 years’ experience in sales or account management within FMCG
  • Knowledge of distribution channels (retail, foodservice, wholesale) and food safety regulations
  • Full clean driving license - this role will require travel, likely once a fortnight to Dublin/Cork, and Monaghan weekly
