Description:

We are hiring for our client, a leading food manufacturing business, seeking an experienced Hygiene Manager to oversee hygiene and facilities operations across all sites. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance, safety, and operational excellence, maintaining the highest food safety and hygiene standards.

The successful Hygiene Manager will lead a dedicated hygiene team, manage cleaning and facilities processes, ensure audit readiness, and drive a culture of continuous improvement across all operations.

The Role:

• Lead, train, and develop the hygiene team to deliver consistent, high-quality standards across all production areas and facilities.
• Plan and verify cleaning activities, maintaining records, SOPs, and schedules to ensure audit readiness.
• Manage hygiene stock, chemical controls, and supplier relationships to guarantee compliance and efficiency.
• Support the Listeria Management Plan and deliver continuous improvements across hygiene operations.
• Investigate post-clean micro failures, identify root causes, and implement long-term corrective actions.
• Conduct routine facilities checks and coordinate with contractors for maintenance, upgrades, and compliance.
• Manage key service contracts including laundry, consumables, PPE, and chemical supply.
• Drive a culture of safe working practices and ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and food safety legislation.


The Person:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in hygiene management within the food manufacturing industry.
• Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and reporting abilities.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations relating to hygiene and facilities.
• Experience managing contractors, capital projects, and budgets.
• Passionate about maintaining high standards and driving continuous improvement.
