About Our Client:

Our client is a leading engineering subcontractor specializing in fabricated weld assemblies, machined components, and treated assemblies for OEMs. With over 25 years in business, they cater to a wide range of industries including materials handling, agriculture, quarrying, and power distribution. They recently moved to a state-of-the-art, near zero-energy facility in County Cavan to support continued growth and increased production output.

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of their newly established manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this senior role requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in operations, engineering, and business management. The General Manager will focus on improving operational performance, enhancing team development, and ensuring customer satisfaction, ultimately driving profitability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage daily business operations, focusing on strategic initiatives and business success.
• Develop and implement growth-focused business strategies to drive excellence across all functions.
• Lead operations, engineering, procurement, and administrative teams to meet high-performance standards.
• Ensure on-time delivery and exceed customer expectations through exceptional operational management.
• Drive effective HR processes, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and identify opportunities for business growth.
• Collaborate with finance to manage budgets and implement process improvements that enhance financial performance.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
• Ensure high standards of health and safety across all operations.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience in a senior management role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of machining and fabrication processes is highly desirable.
• Relevant third-level qualification preferred.
• Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on goal setting, motivation, training, and mentorship.
• Performance-oriented with strong budgeting, reporting, and financial oversight capabilities.
