About the Role:


We are currently recruiting for a Food Technologist to join a well-established and innovative Food Manufacturer in County Armagh. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about food science and product development to make a significant impact within a growing company that specializes in high-quality bakery products.

As a Food Technologist, you will play a key role in the development and improvement of new and existing products, ensuring they meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. You will collaborate with various teams, including NPD, Quality, and Production, to drive innovation and ensure the smooth transition from concept to final product.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of new bakery products and improve existing products in line with customer needs and market trends.
  • Ensure all products comply with food safety regulations, quality standards, and customer specifications.
  • Work closely with the NPD and production teams to ensure smooth product launches, including managing product trials and process optimizations.
  • Conduct shelf-life studies, sensory evaluations, and other necessary tests to ensure the products meet the required standards.
  • Assist in the creation and updating of product specifications and technical documentation.
  • Liaise with suppliers to source raw materials and ingredients, ensuring compliance with quality and cost requirements.
  • Provide technical support to resolve any production or quality issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new ingredients, and technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the product range.

 

 

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in food product development or food technology, preferably within the bakery sector.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality standards (HACCP, BRC, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to product development and process improvements.
  • A passion for food and innovation, with a keen eye for detail and product quality.
