Our client, a growing food manufacturing company in Arklow, is seeking an experienced Evening Shift Manager to lead their evening production team. This role is critical for maintaining efficient operations, upholding stringent food safety standards, and driving continuous process improvements.

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will supervise daily production activities to ensure smooth workflows and adherence to quality and safety standards. Your responsibilities will span team management, production monitoring, and proactive problem-solving to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise evening production activities to achieve established targets and schedules.
  • Monitor machinery performance and workforce efficiency while enforcing rigorous food safety protocols (e.g., HACCP).
  • Lead and mentor team members, ensuring clear communication of goals and best practices.
  • Conduct routine safety checks and coordinate with maintenance for prompt equipment repairs.
  • Manage raw material usage and liaise with the supply chain team for timely inventory replenishment.
  • Prepare comprehensive end-of-shift reports detailing production metrics and any challenges encountered.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and boost productivity.

Required Qualifications & Attributes

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in food production or manufacturing, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility to work day shifts as needed.
