The Role:

As a Commercial Litigation Solicitor, you will work on a range of commercial disputes, including matters relating to intellectual property, consumer goods, retail, and automotive industries. Your role will primarily focus on commercial litigation and data protection.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing Commercial Litigation: Represent clients in disputes covering a broad range of business and regulatory issues. This will include handling high-profile and complex disputes, particularly those related to commercial contracts, intellectual property, and data protection.
  • Data Protection Expertise: Advise clients on data protection matters, including GDPR compliance, data breach incidents, and representing clients in related complaints and criminal prosecutions.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with major clients across sectors like media, sports, retail, and automotive, providing expert legal advice and guidance.
  • Collaboration with Senior Solicitors: Work closely with senior team members to provide strategic advice and handle high-profile cases. This will include exposure to complex Commercial Court litigation and professional regulatory matters.

The Person:

We are looking for a Solicitor with 1 to 4 years PQE in commercial litigation, with experience in handling high-profile commercial disputes. Some exposure to data protection and GDPR law is desirable, but the emphasis is on strong commercial litigation experience.

  • Experience in managing and representing clients in complex commercial disputes.
  • Strong legal research and drafting skills, with the ability to manage complex cases and work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a client-facing approach and the ability to manage relationships with high-profile clients.
  • A desire to build expertise in data protection law, particularly around GDPR compliance, regulatory investigations, and data breaches.
