The Role:

As an Employment Lawyer, you will:

  • Advise on a broad spectrum of employment law matters, including employer rights and duties, contractual documentation, policies, business licensing, housing, and immigration.
  • Provide support to corporate teams with due diligence and transaction-related matters.
  • Represent clients in local Employment & Discrimination Tribunals, including conducting advocacy for interim and final hearings.
  • Draft pleadings, witness statements, skeleton arguments, and agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to the development of the practice.
  • Participate in thought leadership initiatives, including conferences, seminars, and client presentations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to deliver exceptional client service.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A qualification as a UK barrister or solicitor with 3-6 years PQE, primarily in employment law.
  • Proven experience in advocacy, including cross-examination and presenting cases at tribunal level.
  • Strong technical knowledge of employment law, with a focus on financial services clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive, ambitious, and commercially driven mindset.
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and support colleagues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and legal systems.
  • Experience in Guernsey and/or Jersey jurisdictions or familiarity with offshore financial services (preferred but not essential).
