A leading manufacturing and retail company, based in Sligo, is seeking an experienced and motivated  Area Sales Manager to join their team. This role will oversee the performance and management of several teams, with a strong focus on driving sales growth, operational efficiency, and delivering top-tier customer service across multiple locations.

The Role:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the assigned retail branch network, ensuring each location meets sales, profitability, and customer service goals.
  • Lead and inspire branch managers and their teams to consistently achieve high standards in customer service, operational efficiency, and stock management.
  • Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales growth, margin performance, stock turnover, and customer satisfaction across the branches.
  • Implement and maintain best practices in retail operations, merchandising, stock control, and health & safety to ensure operational excellence.
  • Develop and execute business strategies that drive footfall, customer engagement, and align with the wider agribusiness division’s goals.
  • Conduct regular branch visits to assess performance, support teams, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching
  • Identify training and development needs within teams and implement programs to enhance product knowledge, customer service, and commercial skills.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve customer service across all retail locations.

 

 

The Candidate:

  • Education: A third-level qualification in Agriculture, Business, or a related field is required. A background in retail management is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Proven track record in sales management, team leadership, and achieving business objectives. Experience in the agri-sector and retail management is essential.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships both internally and externally. Must demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities and strong business acumen, particularly in managing multiple locations in a fast-paced environment. Experience in debt collection management is also a key requirement.
