Learning & Development Manager

Due to continued success and growth, our highly successful, industry leading Co Tyrone based client wishes to recruit an experienced Learning & Development Manager. 

This is a new, permanent L&D job, and a senior role within the business. 

 

The successful Learning & Development Manager will have a critical role in leading the creation of the L&D strategy, right through to the implementation across business regions. 

 

Reporting to the Director of Talent, the Learning & Development Manger will work collaboratively with Head of Departments and Managers to take the lead in the identification, planning, organisation and evaluation of all learning and development activities for driving successful growth and high performance. 

Key projects will focus on succession planning, leadership development and the creation of competency frameworks.  With this in mind, the L&D Manager should have a keen passion and experience for organisational design and development.

 

The Role

  • Develop and implement a learning strategy and program that are aligned with the organisation’s objectives
  • Identify L&D needs across the business through performance reviews, succession planning, regular consultation with line managers etc
  • Act as the expert, first point of contact for L&D requirements across the organisation
  • Lead the delivery of learning  & development strategic projects
  • Lead and implement the annual completion of succession planning
  • Create a learning culture  and environment that supports continuous professional development
  • Build coaching and mentoring capability to support the succession of top talent
  • Keep up to date with latest trends and future trends in learning and motivation
  • Identify skills gaps and future learning requirements through the creation of a skills matrix and competency frameworks
  • Drive learning & Development strategies and deliver bespoke training
  • Track budgets, negotiate contracts and build and maintain relationships with third parties
  • Develop skill matrices and develop career pathways
  • Analyst and present key learning and development metrics
  • Manage all employee training records, submit regular claims to Invest NI.

 

The Person

  • 3rd level qualification in a relevant discipline
  • CIPD membership
  • Associate Diploma in Organisational Learning and Development
  • Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in a comparable, learning & Development/OD role
  • Experience working within a large engineering/manufacturing/production led environment
  • 2-3 years management experience
  • Experience of managing Invest NI claims
  • Experience of design and delivery of training
  • Excellent IT skills and experience of managing an LMS
  • The role is based in Co Tyrone but there may be a requirement for some travel
