Dayshift Maintenance Fitter

Our client is recruiting a Dayshift Maintenance Fitter to support the continued performance and reliability of its manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high speed plant, reducing downtime, delivering preventative maintenance and supporting continuous improvement across the facility.

Based onsite in Athy, County Kildare, the role operates from 8.00 am to 4.30 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00 am to 3.30 pm on Friday. This consistent daytime schedule offers a structured working pattern and the opportunity to collaborate closely with production and operations colleagues.

The Role:

• Deliver scheduled preventative maintenance and improve equipment reliability.
• Diagnose and complete mechanical repairs across pneumatic, hydraulic, handling and packaging systems.
• Minimise downtime through fast response, root cause analysis and effective problem solving.
• Replace components, replace seals and verify pump alignment where required.
• Record maintenance activity, spare parts usage and work orders on the CMMS.
• Support equipment improvements, production teams, training and cross skilling.

The Person:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Senior Trade Qualification or National Diploma or Degree in Mechatronics, Fitting or Maintenance.
• Familiarity with SCADA and good computer literacy desirable
